Dewayne's Web Page

Hello Fellow Motorcycle Enthusiasts

We are Dewayne & Jo Ann Finn and live in deep South Texas in the city of McAllen. My current bike is a  2004 Yamaha FJR w/ABS. Jo Ann and I are both certified MSF RiderCoaches. I love motorcycles, riding them, talking about them, and meeting others that that share a love of motorcycling.

My Dad and I on Pikes Peak in 1999

In 1998 I bought a new Kawasaki Voyager, I had it for over a year before I took it on a long trip. I rode up from McAllen, TX to Dallas, hooked up with my Dad and then went to Colorado from there. The ride up Pikes Peak was rough, I really have no desire to do it again. Been there done that. The day after Pikes Peak we rode up Mt. Evans, I strongly endorse this ride. The road up is paved the entire way and there is hardly any traffic. Mt. Evans is located just a few miles west of Denver.

On Top of Mt. Evans all Covered with Snow

On June 17th, 2001 (Father's Day), myself and 4 friends did a SaddleSore 1000 recognized by the Iron Butt Association. A SaddleSore 1000 consists of riding at least 1000 DOCUMENTED miles in twenty-four hours or less. We left McAllen, Tx at 4 a.m. and rode up the Gulf Coast to Crowley, La. We returned to McAllen at 11 p.m. It was a lot of fun and I consider it an honor to be included as an IBA member. You can find more info about the SaddleSore 1000 and other types of endurance rides at the Iron Butt Website. On Aug. 18, 2001 I received my Iron Butt Certificate and IBA #8816. On Oct 6th, 2001 I participated in a 24 hour rally called the LOE 1000, for a complete rally report click here.

I had so much fun I went back and rode in the 2002 LOE, read about it here

LDRiders or Long Distance Riders is a good source for information on Endurance Riding and Endurance Rallies. The wisdom on this list is outstanding. Thank you Joe Denton for hosting LDRiders.
